Avene Thermal Spring Water 300ml - Mist for Sensitive Skin, $22.99

“If you’ve got eczema and you’re at your wit’s end, you can bathe in it and it actually resents the skin because of the molecular make up of The Springs,” she said.

“They’ve done docos on it, they’ve done studies on it. Hence why I recommend.”

She added: “I would use this on children with eczema, rub on babies, mist your dehydrated face. Impaired barrier. Rosacea. Peri-oral dermatitis. Everyone can use this.”

“We have two hand creams here,” Taylor said.

“Invest in your hands now because there is only so much filler, laser and all of that can do for you later on.

Pointing to the anti-aging variety, she said: “This contains a collagen peptide, palmitoyl tetra peptide 7, whereas the other one doesn’t. That’s the difference.”

The expert said the creams are great for people with topic dermatitis and dry hands, and are also suitable for mechanics, nurses, the elderly and tradies.

Elucent Even Tone Exfoliating Cleanser 150g, $24.99

“This is one that I’m not just recommending, but dermatologists are recommending,” Taylor said.

“This is Lucent’s Even Tone Exfoliating Cleanser and I’ve actually been using this for almost three or four years now.

“The first time I used this, I was shaken. Shooketh. And that’s hard to do with me, because I feel like I’m a bit dead inside with skincare. But it reveals the most beautiful glow to the skin.

“Who can use this? Oily, oily combination, mature, thickened, photo damaged-skin, dull, lack lustre. It’s got niacinamide in it, glycerin. It really plumps and hydrates the skin.

“It has these teeny tiny little beads in it that reveal a beautiful glow.

“So if you’re sensitive, prone to redness, be warned.”

Invisible Zinc SPF 50+ Sheer Defence Tinted Moisturiser Light, $20.39

“If you have melanoma, if you have rosacea, if you have pigment, this is what I’m telling everyone to get on,” the expert said of the Chemist Warehouse face product.

She added: “This contains 27 per cent zinc oxide and this is going to protect those rays from penetrating the skin. And this is what we need on those sunny, sunny days in summer.”

Invisible Zinc SPF 50+ Sport Mineral Sunscreen 4-Hour Water Resistant, $17.39

“So do you have any redness or pigment that goes in the shape of your top?” she asked.

“Yeah, that’s probably a condition called poikiloderma. Don’t worry, it’s benign and it’s from sun damage - you can also get it from praying perfume and getting sun exposure.

“So this is why my dermal clinician friends and I opt for this on those hot days at the beach or the pool because it’s water resistant. But we apply it every two hours.

“Again, it’s 27 per cent zinc oxide and it is invisible zinc.

Taylor warned the cream can leave a white cast on the skin of clients with tanned complexions, but says “they don’t care because they don’t want to end up like a leathery old bag and they don’t want to accentuate any of their pigment.”

La Roche-Posay Lipikar Cleaning Oil, $26.39

“Are you the laziest person at moisturising your body? Or is your skin so dry you are irritated and cranky on your body?” Taylor asked.

“Public service announcement, this is not for your face. This is the La Roche-Posay Lipikar Cleaning Oil and this contains niacinamide, castor oil, shea butter, glycerides and you can put it in your bath, put it in your shower.

“It is a game changer for the body.”

She added: “Lazy girl moisturising method: cleanse body with this.”

However the expert warned that the product will cause congestion on the face.
